Chaunsa


Originating from the Rahim Yar Khan district of Pakistan, these mango types have been named after Sher Shah Suri, who defeated Humanyun, one of the Mughal Emperors at a battle in Bihar, India. Chaunsa used to be the favorite of the whole Suri tribe. 

Chaunsa mangoes are one of the most popular mangoes out of all types and also the most consumed among the people because of its incredibly sweet taste. The majority of the people have this mango by softening it with their thumbs and sucking the juice directly from the fruit. The ripening season for chaunsa mango is between June till August until late September. 

Sindhri


Sindhri mango has been originated from the Mir Pur Khas district of Pakistan. The shape of this mango is oval, and the skin is bright yellow. This super-aromatic mango is the epitome of taste that is usually sweet but also a little tangy in the early harvesting season. 
The name of the mango comes from Sindh because this mango type is commonly consumed in the Sindh province of Pakistan. Sindhri mangoes are used in making shakes, ice creams, and smoothies. Most of the time, people eat these mangoes by cutting them into cubes after peeling the skin. The ripening season for Sindhri mangoes is between My till August, and they have a longer preserving life, unlike other mango types.

Ratol


The name for this mango comes from Anwar-ul-Haq, who is said to be the first person to harvest this kind of mango in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, India. These mangoes are known as the "king" of mangoes because of their high demand and deliciousness. It is mainly harvested and grown in the Punjab province of Pakistan. 
The ripening season of Anwer Ratol mangoes is abridged; that is why it has a very high demand and is the most favorite mango type among the people, not only in Pakistan but worldwide. 

Langra


This mango originates from Varanasi (Banaras), the northern part of India, where it was cultivated for the first time. The reason behind naming this mango as langra (Lame) remains unknown, but rumors are that the man who first harvested this mango was lame himself. 

The unique characteristic of these types of mangoes is their color, which stays green even after ripening but is bright orange from the inside and tastes exceptionally sweet. The harvesting seasons begin from the mid of July till September, and the taste changes from very sweet to a little sour, depending upon the fruit's ripeness.

Dussheri


Dussheri is another most popular type among the mangoes of Pakistan. Its roots are originated from the Gardens that belonged to the Nawabs of Lucknow, India. Super sweet and lip-smacking, this kind of mango has the best taste ever. 

The best time to enjoy this small mango is between the first three weeks of July when they are best in taste and aroma!

Neelum, Fajri, Saroli, Malda, and Totapuri are also other kinds of Pakistani mangoes that are produced and readily available. To grow a mango tree is also very easy, and it is commonly seen in the backyards of many houses in Sindh and Punjab.
